Controller

The controller is Jacek Mariusz Taczała (private individual, author of the game), contact: personvern [at] stop60.no. The game has no accounts, ads or profiling, and no data is sold.

Cookie-free statistics

Visits are counted with GoatCounter (script hosted with the game): page and referring page, browser and system, language, screen width, country (derived from the IP address) and the events “game start” and “game end”. The IP address and browser are only held in server memory (up to 8 hours) to count unique visits; only aggregate statistics are stored, with no IP address or ID. GoatCounter stores nothing in your browser. Purpose: knowing how many people play and where they come from. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); you can object, e.g. by blocking scripts or by emailing personvern [at] stop60.no.

Data on your device

Your browser storage (localStorage) holds: your nickname, the local leaderboard (nickname, points, KO), your high score, the sound setting, whether you have seen the intro, and your online-leaderboard choice. The game files are kept in the browser cache (service worker) so the game works offline. These are not cookies and do not leave your device (except the online leaderboard, below). They are strictly necessary for features you use, so no consent is needed.

Online leaderboard

A nickname is needed to play. After a game, the following goes to the public online leaderboard: nickname, result (points, KO, wave), game and time saved; anyone can see the top 10. You can turn this off by unticking “Show my score on the online leaderboard” below the nickname field – your result then stays on your device. Don’t use your real full name, e-mail or anyone else’s details – any made-up nickname is fine. Nicknames are filtered automatically and entries that break the rules are removed. Purpose: running the leaderboard. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) – the leaderboard is part of the game, taking part is voluntary and you can switch it off at any time.

Recipients

Supabase (Supabase Pte. Ltd., Singapore, part of the US-based Supabase, Inc. group) – leaderboard database on servers in the EU (AWS, Ireland), acting as processor under its data processing agreement (DPA), which includes the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for any access from outside the EEA (e.g. support); its server logs may briefly record IP addresses (Supabase privacy policy). GoatCounter (Martin Tournoij, Ireland) – statistics, Hetzner servers in Finland and Germany (GoatCounter privacy policy). GitHub, Inc. (USA) – GitHub Pages hosting; when pages load, GitHub may log your IP address and browser data (GitHub privacy statement). Fonts are hosted with the game (no Google Fonts). E-mails you send to stop60.no addresses are forwarded by Domeneshop AS (Norway) to an inbox at Proton AG (Switzerland); we use them only to reply and delete them once the matter is closed.

How long

Online leaderboard entries: until you ask for deletion, at most 12 months after they are saved. GoatCounter statistics: aggregate data only, no personal data. Supabase and GitHub server logs: briefly, as set out in their policies. Data on your device: until you delete it (clear this site’s data in your browser settings).

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and to object (Art. 21 GDPR). Email personvern [at] stop60.no with the nickname, game and approximate date and we will remove the entry. You can also complain to a data protection authority, e.g. Datatilsynet (Norway), UODO (Poland) or the ICO (UK).

Children

The game is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 16, use a nickname that reveals nothing about you, or turn the online leaderboard off.
